Last week while in Las Vegas I had the opportunity to visit the Neon Museum and take the hour long tour. It was the highlight of my visit in Vegas. The people were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The tour included the history of various signs in the collection as well as general Las Vegas history. It was extremely hot in the sun for an hour and the staff was very conscientious about checking on everyone’s health. The only complaint I would have is the tour guide kept referring to movies like Conair, Mars Attacks and Casino as ‘Old Movies’. Where those movies really made over 25 years ago? Am I that old?
The experience was a great deal like taking pictures in the Northwoods. Everything there is so amazing you can not take a bad picture. If it was in focus, it was good. As a result, I ended up with 75 pictures I loved. I posted them all so if you want, have a look. I put my favorites near the top. Enjoy.
(Oh, and it is illegal to use any of these pictures commercially according to the terms of the Museum so if you steal them from here you will have more than just someone who keeps a digital scrapbook to contend with!)
First, my favorites
The below picture is defiantly going to be a County Fair 2015 entry.
I really like the below picture, I think it may also be a County Fair entry.
Both of these were so fun…I love the duck!
The below is the oldest sign in their collection
Next, Love to my Sweetie
All the rest of the fun shots from the Neon Museum
Last but not least…the Skull from Treasure Island before it became T.I.
