The pictures from this post were taken at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore on my drive along the northeast coast of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in the fall 2014. It was the same trip as the post on Miners Falls and Munising Falls. The view was truly magnificent.
Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is an area along Lake Superior in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The action of the water on the colorful sandstone cliffs has carved out a natural masterpiece.
These photos were taken on the overlook out on Miners Castle Rock
The below are photos of the Miners Castle rock with a glimpse of Grand Island in the background.
This is the view to the east side of the inlet
Below is the arch from the farthest rock formations.
Next, a shot of the closer rock formations.
Below is Bridalvail Falls, a seasonal waterfall along the Pictured Rocks. You can see this waterfall on the closer rock formations to the right of the east shoreline photo.
Below are pictures of Grand Island. It is the larges island on the south shore of Lake Superior. These were taken at an overlook just west of Munising, MI.
